Apr 6, 2023 — 9.0 Redesigned Evaluation
Evaluation screen has been redesigned! It had not changed in a few years, update 9.0 brings some welcomed improvements.
- The UI looks more like the rest of the app.
- General comment is at the top, in a card dedicated to Car information.
- Search in make and model lists shows all entries that contain the query, even if this is not the start of the word.
- Expand Criterion rows for additional control:
- Show + and - buttons if it is easier for you to set the rating.
- Comment field is no longer in a popup. It is therefore easier to navigate between the criteria.
- The comment is saved as you type, you will not mistakenly close the popup and lose your comment.
- Unchecking the checkbox next to a criteria clearly shows “Not reviewed”.
Lists of models
- Added Chevrolet models
- Updated Ford models

Ads in Car Rate are no longer personalized. It means that ads you see no longer use your personal data to be more relevant.

Jul 19, 2022 — 8.0 New interface for saved cars
New interface
The list of saved cars and the saved car page have been redesigned!
This redesign comes with many improvements.
List improvements
- The date is displayed in the list, above the car names.
- Sorting:
- The sort options have been redesigned. It is easier to see which option is active, as it is now visible at the top of the list, even when you scroll.
- It is possible to change the sort order, i.e. ascending or descending.
- Interactions between searching and sorting have been improved. A sorted list will remain sorted while you search through it, and you can even choose a different sort option then.
- It is possible to sort the list while selecting cars, e.g. to remove cars with low scores.
- Other UI improvements and bug fixes.
Saved car page improvements
This page has been fully redesigned. Here are some of the major changes:
- The car name gets more space, for longer car names or smaller screens.
- Comments are visible and editable by expanding the general rating and criteria cards, by clicking the arrow next to the ratings. The general rating card is expanded by default if a comment is saved.
A blue arrow means that a comment is saved.
- Each criterion has a bar to represent the score, letting you appreciate the qualities and weak points of a car at a glance.
Other changes
- It is now mandatory to migrate car data saved before version 3.6.0 of Car Rate. This will let you access the redesigned Car Rate and improved features.
- Fixed alignment issues in the contact form.
- Fixed some crashes when using the French version.
